The SFD was toned out for a signal 13 (Automatic Alarm) on January 5, 2018 at 01:05 (1:05 am) with the location of 95 River Heights Drive.
Soon after the alarm was toned, fire was reported in the garage area of the home. The call was upgraded to a 13-35 (Working Structure Fire).
Units arriving on scene stretched lines and quickly brought the fire under control entering through the garage.
The fire appears to have started in the chimney that lies between the garage and living area of the house with smoke traveling into the attic.
On scene were all Chiefs 4-2-30, 4-2-31, 4-2-32, 4-2-33, Engines 4-2-1, 4-2-2, 4-2-4 and 4-2-5, ladder 4-2-7, and ambulance 4-2-61.
Mutual aid was provided by Kings Park, Hauppauge
e and St. James.
All unite were back in service at 0:2:50 (2:50 am)
This was the second working fire in a 2 day period for the Department.
