Five Smithtown Fire Fighters along with a District EMT were honored for bravery at the Annual Dimmer of the Suffolk County Volunteer Fireman’s Association Annual Dinner on Saturday, October 14th at the Mill Pond Country Club in Medford. All were honored as Firefighters of the Year.
Smithtown Fire Department Second Assistant Chief Patrick Diecidue, Third Assistant Chief Timothy Duckham, Ex-Chief John Hansen, Ex-Captain, Company 4, Jennifer O’Brien, Firefighter Joseph LaRocco and former District EMT Tom Kriklava were honored for their heroic actions at an August 24, 2016 fire at 38 Sterling Lane.
