Several times each year the Smithtown Fire Department holds refresher drills to reinforce and relearn important rescue skills. On Monday, March 8, the Department held an air bag and cribbing refresher. Air bags are used to displace objects such as cars, trucks and other heavy items that cannot easily be lifted with basic equipment.
